I am thinking about a focus of Inquiry Based Learning for my ImagineIT project for MSUrbanStem. With IBL, I am imagining a classroom where I give students just enough scaffolding, axioms, etc and then it is their responsibility and project to go up to the board and prove things for their peers. We progress as a class according to the pace that students can show and prove things. I am hoping they can come up with their own extensions to what is happening in class
I am teaching an advanced, proof-based class this year and AP Calculus; I think I can at least pilot this in my advanced class.
